On Saturday there was a real firework of innovative ideas in Gyumri branch of ASUE.
“The Education- Business Environment” cooperation platform has organized the first event named “Think and talk”. Among participants of the event were 20 young people with startup ideas from Gyumri Branch of State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, the 4th Gyumri State Vocational School, Gyumri State Technical College and European Educational Regional Academy.
At the beginning of the event the participants were welcomed by the head of the “Development, science, quality assurance and foreign relations” department of ASUE GB Gharib Harutyunyan, who also detailed the goals, priorities and importance of the platform. Afterwards the founder of the company Annaniks Aghasi Gyurjoghlyan and the founder of IT Space Educational Center Karen Gasparyan introduced the principles of generating ideas, founding startups, presenting examples of world-wide startups, and also talked about their own successful startups.
While the participants were actively discussing, the Head of ASUE Gyumri Branch of ASUE Mr. Gharib Harutyunyan and the Development Programs and Science Specialist of ASUE GB Marine Avetisyan had a short talk with us and introduced the activities that preceded the event and further goals of the platform.
“ The cooperation platform “Education- Business Environment” was created by the initiative of ASUE GB, which united 14 secondary vocational, higher education and state institutions operating in Shirak region. The platform has been working for several months to create a sustainable ecosystem in Gyumri. During the December there were made several visits to different educational institutions and universities of Shirak region, in which participated pupils and students interested in startup ecosystems. During the all visits, the participants showed a great interest in developing the platform and startup ideas in Gyumri, ” told Marine Avetisyan.
Gharib Harutyunyan emphasized the importance of active cooperation in the educational and business spheres and it’s impact on the sustainable development of the two spheres.
“ This platform is a real opportunity for young people, who has a purpose to contribute to the development of ideas among young people, to provide educational and counseling support.
Through the platform students have the opportunity to self-educate, communicate with other young people with creative thinking and with successful startupers, and finally turn their idea into a business. It is a priority for us to develop a startup ecosystem in Shirak region by using the creative potential of the region’s youth effectively,” mentioned Gharib Harutyunyan.
At the end of the event, four teams presented their ideas, all of which were innovative and had technological solutions.
From January advances courses will be launched about startup foundation and management, and successfully graduated students will be able to enter the market with their own startups.
